The Association for Biblical Higher Education was established in 1947
ABHE Serves:

Mission:
The mission of the Association for Biblical Higher Education is to provide accreditation and services for institutions and programs of biblical higher education within Canada, the United States, and related territories.
Purposes:
The Association seeks to fulfill its mission by:

Promoting excellence among institutions and programs of biblical higher education through the process of accreditation.

Promoting cooperation among member and affiliate institutions and the larger higher education community.

Promoting the distinctives of biblical higher education to the higher education community, the church and society.

Providing services that will stimulate excellence among administrators, board members, faculty, and students at member and affiliate institutions.

- International Council of Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE), the theological education affiliate of the World Evangelical Alliance
The Association for Biblical Higher Education has an annual budget of $657,000. Fifty-five percent of the budgeted revenue comes from membership fees; the balance is generated by other revenue-producing activities.
The Association is administered by a full-time Executive Director. He is assisted by a full-time Associate Director and a group of four office staff.

Constituency:
There are more than 1200 institutions of biblical higher education in Canada, the United States, and related territories. Among these, ABHE institutions assist men and women in the development of a biblical world view with a special emphasis on the training of students for church and church-related vocations. Each undergraduate institution or program that is accredited by the Association consists of biblical/theological studies, general studies, and professional studies. Involvement in ministry formation activities is also an integral part of the biblical higher education experience. ABHE also serves a growing number of institutions that have seminaries or graduate divisions.
