Director of Accreditation & Assessment

Position Overview: Under administrative supervision of the Vice President and Dean of Educational Resources, the Director of Accreditation & Assessment is responsible for managing, facilitating and coordinating compliance to state, regional and professional accreditation by the programs offered by Moody Bible Institute. The position also is charged with providing essential communication and assistance to the Provost, VP/Deans and/or department chairs with the planning and coordination of all accreditation reporting databases and reporting systems for each program area.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the coordination, facilitation and management of compliance to national and regional accreditation for programs offered by MBI nationwide
  • Possess and maintain awareness of accreditation requirements and how these affect MBI
  • Interface and cultivate relationships to serve as liaison with state, regional and professional accrediting agencies (e.g., ABHE, HLC and NASM) to aid in assessing compliance issues
  • Investigate state/local compliance requirements, issues, obligations while maintaining effective line of communication with the Provost and corresponding VPs, Deans, and Regional Directors
  • Maintain policy manual and track historical records of amended policies
  • Monitor changes to legal requirements of state higher education, coordinating boards and other governmental agencies in jurisdictions where MBI currently operates
  • Prepare and provide feasibility studies on state/local requirements for proposed regional sites and/or locations
  • Coordinate self-study process for accreditation and reaccreditation events
  • Provide counsel to MBI Provost, VPs, Deans and Regional Directors
  • Make recommendations to prevent any accreditation conditions and/or situations, which could inhibit efficient operation of the education division
  • Maintain report files for re-accreditation and send out organized monthly reminders to each division/departments of reports due
  • Maintain all files as required by the accreditation authorities, under the supervision of the Vice President and Dean of Educational Resources
  • Meets all deadlines pertinent to accreditation requirements
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Masters degree and a minimum three years of experience in assessment and research design in higher education
  • Th/PhD, and or a Master’s Degree in Education with preferred additional certifications or training in higher biblical education is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of assessment of student learning, program evaluation, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and statistical analysis is required
  • Experience with database-driven, web-based applications, and statistical software
  • Experience in and knowledge of the professional accreditation process.
  • Three+ years experience in the field, two years of work experience in higher biblical education accreditation is highly desirable
  • Solid management background with strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong communication, management and project management skills and a demonstrated ability to network with national, regional and state accrediting boards
